Editor apologizes to singer Jose Feliciano for parody song.

Christmas at National Harbor

An editor for a Washington-based Web site that featured a parody of singer Jose Feliciano’s hit song “Feliz Navidad” said no offense was meant.

The apology on behalf of the Web site for the conservative publication Human Events came after Feliciano strongly criticized “The Illegal Alien Christmas Song” created by radio producers Matt Fox and A.J. Rice.

“We regret any offense that Mr. Feliciano may have taken from this parody.”

After the parody song focused on undocumented immigrants was released, a corresponding video drew a large audience on YouTube.

Feliciano was upset stating, “When I wrote and composed ‘Feliz Navidad,’ I chose to sing in both English and Spanish in order to create a bridge between two wonderful cultures during the time of year in which we hope for goodwill toward all.”
