Kellie Pickler said she enjoyed helping build a new house for a family on the TV series “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
Kellie, 23, said she used electrical wiring skills she learned from her grandfather as a child to help build the home.
“I can actually wire a house. I started wiring when I was 5 years old. I would crawl under the house and run wires. I grew up in the country, so the women had to know how to fix things as much as the men.”
Kellie says demolishing the family’s original home was her favorite part.
“It was the only chance I’ve ever had to walk into a house with a sledge hammer and bust holes in walls.”
She also admitted she cried when the family was presented with the new home.
“I was bawling like a baby. I’m an emotional basket case anyway, but that was absolutely incredible.”
