Technicians were setting up the stage when the accident occurred killing one person and injuring six, police say. The Sunday, July 19 concert has been cancelled.
No word as to the cause of the accident was not clear. Authorities are saying that two of the injuries were serious, and that all of the injured were taken to local hospitals.
The frame “started shaking and collapsing”, said Marseille city councillor Maurice Di Nocera.
“Fortunately, it didn’t collapse too quickly, as there would have been quite a few victims,” he said, according to AFP news agency.
