Miley Cyrus song The Climb was ruled ineligible for a Grammy.

Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball - Day 1

The reason why the Miley Cyrus song “The Climb” lost its Grammy nomination is because it was ruled ineligible.

“The Climb,” was featured in Hannah Montana: The Movie and was originally nominated for best song written for a motion picture, television, or other visual media.

The song had to be withdrawn from consideration after Walt Disney Records “verified that the song was not written specifically for the film.”

With “The Climb” dropping out,  “All is Love,” by Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who wrote the song for Where the Wild Things Are, is now nominated.

In the same category are Bruce Springsteen’s song of the same title from the film The Wrestler, and “Jai Ho,” from Slumdog Millionaire.
