Rihanna broke her silence about the incident with Chris Brown on 20/20 with Diane Sawyer.
In her first full length interview, Rihanna spoke openly about the assault that took place in February.
When Diane Sawyer asked Rihanna if Chris Brown showed any remorse afterward, Rihanna told her, “He’d say, ‘You hate me, don’t you?’ and I would lie and say, ‘No.’”
Diane Sawyer also showed Rihanna online videos of people saying that she must have provoked him.
Rihanna simply stated, “It’s ignorance.”
One of Rihanna’s most profound statements was when she stated, “With fame comes a lot of things, and the most dangerous is freedom… no boundaries.”
The way that celebrities are pressured to be role models was clear when she said, “My selfish desire for love could result in some young girl getting killed. I could not be easy with that, responsible for that. I’m glad it happened to me, because now I can help young girls when it happens to them.”
