Roman Polanski files lawsuit against paparazzi stationed outside his home.

Roman Polanski has filed a $1.1 million suit against the paparazzi for invading his privacy while he is confined to house arrest in his Swiss chalet.

Polanski, 76, is currently on house arrest in Switzerland awaiting possible deportation to the U.S. for a charge of having unlawful sex with a minor. His lawyers filed a suit in Paris, claiming his family has been harassed by the photographers in their home.

According to his legal team, he still has a right to privacy, especially since he is staying with his wife and their children.

According to the media, the pictures were taken on public land outside his home, but French privacy laws still prohibit paparazzi photos taken on public beaches and in shopping malls.

Polanski is for around $1.1 million.
